Prometheus Review
Prometheus is a film that follows Elezabeth Shaw (what would be considered the main character) as they discover a star map, and follow the to find the creater of the people, and where we come from, but they find more than they would ever had planned.
They did well with a film with a relativly small budget to achieve something that used so much CGI and used it to such a good effect where you would think it had a massive budget. They did this by using not completely unknown actors but certainly not massive actors at the minute. I think that this works well for the film, ther isnt someone that I would consider to be the main character, ovbioulsly some people would say it was Elezabeth Shaw, but I think that she gets just as much screen time as alot of the other characters in the film, so I think one big actor would be of waste of money, and to be fair everyone that acted in the film did a solid job and everyone put in a good performance. One particually notable performance was Micheal Fassbender who played David a very human like robot in the film, and he for me was by far the best performance in the film, he was so believable as a robot, when you actually realised it but when you didnt he was beleiveable as a person, very good performance.
As a film to look at the film is very good, every thing looks altogher sci-fi and looks like something that I would go to watch. The story line on the face of it sounds good there is a story behind it and every thing on face value makes for an for a good film but...
I really didnt enjoy it, althoug there was a story behind it there was no story behind the characters, you found out stuff about some of the characters but nothing that allows you to connect fo any of them, which for me is something that is a must for a film, that is what allows you to connect to a film and feel something about it. This is going to sound really harsh but when characters died I didnt feel anything, to be honest I just thought that is disgusting, and that is what ruined what would have been a perfectly good film.
There is a rumour that there is going to be a sequel, and the way the story line goes there is a real chance, but unless it gets some raving reviews then then I certainly wont be going to watch it. I admit some people will enjoy this film and want to go and will want to watch a sequel, but I didnt give me what I wanted, but if you arent like me then to be fair it is worth a watch.

Attack The Block
The film was produced by Big film productions who have been apart of other big name films such as Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, the film was also produced with Film4
Attack the block is a film directed by a realetavly unknown director and a cast full of young up and coming actors. The film is based on films the director and writer Joe Cornish, like E.T, Preditor, Wariors, and he based the film in the nabourhood that he grew up in as a child in south London, he said that he had never seen a film based in that area and thought it would be a good idea.
one of the problems that occured whilst making the films was not having the budget to create 3D CGI creatures, so to save money they used small amounts of CGI to remove small details from the created monsters/aliens. The soundtrack for this film was created by Basement Jaxx and Steven price who are usualy assosiated with electronic style music and the sound track for this film is no different.
Attack The Block Review!
Attack the block is a film about a bunch of teenagers that find an alien and decide that want it as a trophy and not realising that the aliens friends were on there way, as a result the aliens decide to attack there tower block, and the teens aren't happy and go to war against the aliens not releasing what they are up against and pay the price...
Attack the block is a relatively low budget film that in the process of making what is a very good film manages to introduce a bunch of budding young actors on to the scene, and as first films go this certainly isn't a bad one with action scenes, light comedy, gruesome and scary it covers just about all potential audiences.
The film uses this light humour to lighten up what at sometimes is a dark and grotesque film, and manages to succeed at being funny and a sci-fi, (which hasn't been done in most people opinion since Shaun Of The Dead) it does very well to keep the seriousness of a sci-fi.
I really enjoyed watching this film it had a sarcastic humour and I loved the retro look to the aliens they look like the aliens that you used to fight in these old video games, I don't as a rule like these film that are intended to scare you they just don't appeal to me but the humour attracted me to this film and i think that i will widen the films audience due to the fact I don't believe that i am the only person that doesn't like horror/scary movie thing, and i think its humour will work in its favour whilst also attracting people that do like that sort of movie.
The tension in this film kept you watching, in these scary movies you can pretty much garante that someone in going to die and this film is no different, but that is what kept me watching, it may sound bad but the film constantly had you thinking who is going next. It has a clever story line, and i like how it worked as who died isnt just random there is a reason and i though that was well thought out. I would reccomend this film to a friend, if you are looking for... it sound weird to say but light hearted scary film there is not anything that is better form recent years.
